An excellent meal as always at Amans! We enjoyed the gobi manchurian cauliflower as an appetizer, which was delicious. My wife had tika chicken masala while I had lamb korma. One portion of basmati rice and garlic naan were enough for us to share. It's nice that Aman's is BYOB, as we can bring a good wine to pair with the meal.
Our waiter was very good and the owner is always very friendly. They were very busy but we didn't feel rushed nor did we have a long wait for the meal.
Great location, although the parking situation in Easton is more challenging after the city demolished the garage by Ferry Street. Plan on spending a few minutes parking and walking if you have reservations.
We will be back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mai R.Brooklyn, NY013313Nov 9, 2023
As someone who has been in high end restaurant management industry in NYC, I want to give an honest review for Aman.
Very easy to make a reservation and they were very accommodating to requests. We were a party of 2 and it wasn't busy when we got there, but as it got busier, it got a bit louder.
Pros: the food is delicious, and the portion sizes are reasonable- So flavorful and a solid menu. The staff tries to upsell without being pushy which I appreciate.
Food also came out quickly and it was beautifully presented. They take pride in their presentation.
The restaurant and bathrooms are so clean - they are meticulous about this and I love that.
Cons: Its my opinion that restaurants have to elevate the service just a little bit for these price points. Staff should not wear cologne. As someone who is smell-sensitive to fragrances, this is a definite cringe factor. The staff was nice and accommodating - but the runners seemed to have more engagement and personality than our server . He was nice, but seemed a little inexperienced and confused when we asked questions.
They didn't have any hot beverages to offer. Which was disappointing. It was a cold rainy day and we would have loved some hot tea.
The seating was strange. We sat in the back and the rest was largely empty so they sat someone (they were a group that was fairly loud) right next to us so it was getting hard to hear.
I will definitely go back but I can tell that the volume level will be too much and will only plan around days and times that are less busy - or will do takeout.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Ron R.Brooklyn, Brooklyn, NY096Mar 24, 2024
Ya know, the TASTE is delicious BUT the price is an insult! Veg. Madras Curry cost $19.00 for $2.00 of veg. ! This is a $9.95 vegetable side at most. I'll make it at home.
I like Alan's but please, please make these sides more affordable. I'm not stupid.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 297484747Oct 17, 2022
Aman's has really good indian cuisine! The chicken tikka masala was good but I've had better. Some flavoring was missing. It seemed to be heavy on the turmeric, the yellowish color - i am more accustomed to the orange-ish/red-ish deep color tomato base. One thing I did not like is how the RICE is a separate, a-la-cart item. Who does that??!! Naturally if i order chicken tikka, chicken korma, etc it should come with rice. And Aman's is the first indian restaurant I've been to that doesn't include rice. And the server barely told me. After the fact (several minutes after I'd already made my order), the server came by and said oh yeah by the way it doesn't come with rice. That was baffling to me and to be honest kind of pissed me off. I can laugh at it now, but in the moment, it really turned me off.
The mango lassi was delicious. Not as thick and creamy as I like it, but a decent effort. We also had the garlic masala fries because GarlicFest was going on outside, right in front. It's arguably the best dish I've had from Aman's. And lucky for me, because the garlic masala fries are not a menu item inside. They're excellent!!! And need no accompaniment.
Overall, I'd go again but I'd have to be in the mood and absolutely craving indian food.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - 54512May 10, 2023
I've heard numerous people say how much they loved this place, so I had pretty high expectations when I went. The ambiance and lighting are definitely perfect for a first date. However, there were a lot of people in the restaurant - to the point that it was a bit difficult to hear each other.
We had the vegetable samosa, Garlic naan, lamb curry & butter chicken. The food was average (IMO), but I was really put off by the fact that rice wasn't included in our entrees (it's an additional charge??). Food was fine, though not memorable. Seems a bit overpriced and overhyped.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - John A.PA, PA1189Feb 21, 2024

OH. MY. GOSH!!!!!! We ate here in 2019 when they first opened, and it was great. We finally made it back here today, and I might be back tomorrow. I realized today that I've been chasing the high of this place by eating Indian food everywhere I could, but no place ever comes close to Aman's. Delicious!!!! Prices are great, staff is friendly, ambiance is outstanding as well. Run here, don't walk!

Be careful when ordering vegan options. If you don't specify to the waitress what vegan is she'll just say "ok" & then serve you what you assume is vegan because you said vegan but then the check comes & it says "butter" & when you ask her if there was butter she says "yeah, is that a problem".

Overall the food is delicious and cooked very well - the appetizers were the best and I enjoyed them more than the entree. I was impressed by the samosa pastries and how well cooked they were and the bhajia. The staff is fantastic and I enjoyed the ambience though I wished the food didn't take so long to arrive. I like that they use Vero water which supports reduced emissions.
Bhajia - thinly sliced crispy potatoes. Delicious and nice and crispy with a little of heat/spice to it
Samosa - two large pieces, the crispy texture was great, lots of potatoes so pretty filling
Mango juice - pretty thick juice, tasty and enjoyed
Mango lassi - cute design on top, not a huge portion but tasty
Lamb curry - decent taste with decent amount of lamb chunks, mild is not spicy at all, not a huge portion and wasn't super impressed but enjoyed it
Garlic naan - more on the lighter side of the garlic, and includes 4 pieces. Was not as excited about this dish
Basmati rice - nothing unique was decent
All the curries are served in a unique pot. Unfortunately rice/naan is not included and must be ordered separate.
The place is low lit and there are unique decorations throughout. The tables have a nice design and the plate settings have this unique curve/wave to them, however the tables pushed together were all different heights which was a little annoying and felt somewhat cramped inside. You can tell they do put an emphasis on presentation to their food with the spinach under their appetizers or design on the lassi or the table designs/plate setting/etc. I do think this is a pricier spot for Indian food but enjoyed it and would come again.
***NOTE: 20% service charge for parties of 4 and 25% service charge for parties of 5 or more (pretty hefty charge...)

Thank you so much Dustin for your detailed review. We are happy you enjoyed your dining experience. We also appreciate the feedback on the tables. Trust us its a never ending battle with the adjusters. We are looking at replacing them but everything is either out of stock or back ordered. As for the rice, we do not include it because contrary to popular practices, rice is not the staple in Punjab and North Indian Punjabi Cuisine. For example an entree like Butter Chicken can be eaten with different flavors of rice or all the different types of Naans we have on the menu. So we let our customers decide on what they are in the mood for. Hope this helps clarify our practice. Thank you so much again and we hope to see you soon again. Aman’s Family.

Having been here and receiving an extremely tasty meal, it's a darn shame that our main memory is of waiting forever for everything.
The space is beautiful, and employees have headsets for communication, but the actual results suggest a terrible lack of staff coordination, and a disregard for the "customer journey".
After being seated, no one came for 20 minutes to get our order - I had to flag a random lady down. The appetizer arrived reasonably promptly, but it took a very long time to get the main courses and bread. And then more waiting to get the check, and then the to-go boxes for leftovers. While I like a leisurely meal as much as anyone, spending almost *3 freaking hours* at Aman's was crazy unacceptable. My companion asked a staffer if it were always this slow, and was given some propaganda line about "small custom batch cooking". Oh, please.
So was the food good? Yes, very, and authentic too. Would we go back? Only for takeout. We did takeout from Aman's during COVID's heights and that worked far better than our dining-in experience. Nearby street parking is dodgy so we used a local parking lot, and had to keep going out and adding money as the evening ground on and on. Much better to pull up, get the goods, and eat at home!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
