Doing or saying the wrong thing could not only tarnish your company’s image but hamper your ability to seal the deal. But when in unfamiliar territory, how do you know the right thing to say or do to ensure the meeting is successful? The International Business Council of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce addressed these questions and situations in an International Business Etiquette program Thursday. Olympus of the Americas corporate headquarters in Upper Saucon Township hosted the event, which drew attendees looking to learn more about the best way to approach business opportunities while overseas. “Stay away from politics and religion,” said Anne Baum, vice president of the Lehigh Valley office for Capital BlueCross. “Speak slowly and clearly, use correct grammar, be polite.
