Kraft has had a facility in the Lehigh Valley for more than 40 years, churning out cheese slices, Grey Poupon mustard and, more recently, single-serve coffee pods during its long history here. That run will come to an end within the next two years, which will cost 415 employees their jobs and leave a massive plant in Upper Macungie Township vacant. The plant is one of seven manufacturing facilities in the United States and Canada that will close over the next 12 to 24 months as part of a downsizing that will shed 2,600 jobs, Kraft Heinz Co. spokesman Michael Mullen said Wednesday. The other six plants slated for closure are in Fullerton and San Leandro, Calif.; Federalsburg, Md.; Ontario, Canada; Campbell, N.Y.; and Madison, Wisc. Read more here.
