All 27 inductees have called Bethlehem home at some time and they will be honored this summer as part of Bethlehem's 275th anniversary celebration. The hall of fame recognizes those who have received national recognition in the fields of the arts, journalism, sports, business and the armed services. The 27 inductees that were nominated by the public were announced on Wednesday afternoon by Mayor Bob Donchez and Lynn Collins Cunningham, senior vice president for Bethlehem initiatives with the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. The inductees will be honored during a ceremony on Saturday, June 25 during the free community celebration at the SteelStacks campus in Bethlehem. There will be food, music, entertainment and lots of opportunities to show your Bethlehem pride and knowledge. At the start of the celebration, PBS-39 plans to screen its new documentary featuring Liberty High School's Grenadier Band, Cunningham said. There will also be a Bethlehem-themed scholastic scrimmage staged inside PBS-39, where two teams will square off to see who knows the Christmas City best. The anniversary committee is also seeking photo submissions from the public for a massive array of family photos that will be displayed on banners along fences on the SteelStacks property. Organizers are asking the submissions be scanned in and emailed to bethlehem275photos@gmail.com along with a caption and a date on the photo. Donchez also announced that Coca-Cola Bottling Company of the Lehigh Valley will be the lead sponsor of the celebration.
