In the Republican primary, Lehigh Township resident Zachary Mako narrowly defeated Lehigh Township supervisor Cindy Miller in the fight for state representative in Pennsylvania’s 183rd District. According to unofficial results, Mako won with 52 percent of the vote. Endorsed by retiring representative Julie Harhart, Mako is running on a platform of preventing tax increases, lowering property tax and keeping Lehigh Valley education tax dollars within the region. Quick Clicks Mako served overseas as a helicopter pilot for the Pennsylvania National Guard. He holds a Bachelor’s in Finance from Kutztown University. Miller sits on the Northern Lehigh Chamber of Commerce board as well as the Public Policy Committee in the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. Read the articlehere.
