Allentown's Hamilton District Main Street Program will host the first ever Allentown Beer Festival on Saturday, Aug. 27. The event will take place in the 600 block of Hamilton Street and include beer, food and live music. According to a press release from the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, Allentown Beer Fest will kick off with more than 25 different breweries. Live music by Thunk and The Groove Merchants will play all afternoon, and nearby restaurants, Bell Hall, grain. and The Hamilton Kitchen will be selling food out on the street. A number of craft vendors will also be showcasing their wares during the event, which will take place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The cost of the beer sampling is $34, and the Beer Fest will be a ticketed event for those 21 years of age and over. The price of the ticket will include admission to the festival along with a 3.5 oz. tasting glass.
