The Greater Lehigh Valley Realtors will host an economic outlook event with Lawrence Yun, chief economist and senior vice president of research for the National Association of Realtors, on Sept. 29 at the Community Services Center at Lehigh Carbon Community College in Schnecksville. “We are beyond excited to have Lawrence Yun, truly a rock star in the field of real estate economic forecasting, to present here in the Lehigh Valley and discuss the Valley’s housing market,” said Justin Porembo, CEO of the Greater Lehigh Valley Realtors. The event begins at 10 a.m. with a taping of WFMZ-TV’s “Business Matters” hosted by Tony Iannelli, president and CEO of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. Iannelli will speak one-on-one with Yun about the Lehigh Valley housing market, and the taping will be followed by Yun’s keynote speech at about 10:30 a.m. Yun, who often appears on CSPAN’s Washington Journal and is a regular guest columnist on the Forbes website, will discuss local and national housing marketing conditions and share his predictions for what he expects to occur in 2017. “This is a huge score for area real estate professionals and local business and community leaders,” Porembo said of the free event. As chief economist and senior vice president of research at the national association, Yun oversees and is responsible for a wide range of research activity, including home sale statistics, affordability index and profiles of homebuyers and sellers. He regularly provides commentary on real estate market trends for the 1 million members of the association. Immediately following his presentation, at about 11:35 a.m., a panel discussion featuring local leaders will be moderated by Porembo to further analyze Yun’s data and predictions and how they align with the local residential and commercial real estate markets. Scheduled panelists include Don Cunningham, president and CEO of the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corp., and Becky Bradley, executive director of the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission. A complimentary lunch will be provided at the conclusion of the panel discussion, at about 12:15 p.m. To read the whole article, click here.
