BETHLEHEM — Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce bestowed awards Wednesday night to stalwarts in the business and community during the Bethlehem Chamber Annual Dinner at the ArtsQuest Center. About 220 people attended the event, which celebrated the city and business community, said Emily Krall, the Bethlehem Chamber's marketing and events coordinator. It included a year in review of events and the debut of a new video on shopping and dining opportunties in the city, she said. Those honored were: •Bethlehem Area School District Superintendent Joseph Roy received the Priscilla Payne Hurd Award. You wouldn't let a little thing like not having a corkscrew stop you from enjoying that bottle of wine you just bought, right? Watch these videos to see what lengths people will go to to open a bottle of wine in a pinch. •Mike Gausling of south Bethlehem's Originate Ventures LLC received the L. Frank L. Marcon Award. Previously, Gausling helped start a company that became what is now known as publicly traded OraSure Technologies Inc., which is also in south Bethlehem. •Elaine Pivinski, owner of of Franklin Hills Vineyard in Lower Mount Bethel Township. Pivinski also co-owns the Social Still craft distillery and restaurant in south Bethlehem. In addition, the Chamber gave out Milestone Awards to Moravian College and Moravian Academy for its 275th anniversary, and to honor the 50th anniversary of Northampton Community College.
