The Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania recently honored four women during its “Take the Lead” award ceremony. This year’s honorees were: • Makala Ashmar, an outreach coordinator and constituent services representative for the U.S. House of Representatives. • Jeanette Eichenwald, retired vice president of DataSys Technologies. • Dorota Gasienica-Kozak, partner attorney with King Spry Herman Freund & Faul of Bethlehem. • Michelle Griffin Young, executive vice president of government and external affairs for the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce. The annual Take the Lead event is held to honor some of Lehigh Valley’s most distinguished women whose leadership and achievements have made the community a better place. This year’s event was held at the Sands Bethlehem Event Center, Bethlehem. For the event, the Girl Scouts are given the opportunity to run the program, serving as masters of ceremonies, hosts and award presenters to show off their skills as emerging leaders.
