The warmer temperatures are prompting a lot of people to get outside while they can. It seemed like a lot more people were smiling as they got outside just to get a boost of solar power. Some just enjoyed nature while others were thankful the weather is giving them a few more days to eat at their favorite restaurant. The sun was out, and so were plenty of people in Bethlehem at Monocacy Park. Friends walking, couples sitting and talking, and fly fishermen trying to see if the trout were biting. "Sun on your face, sun on your back, I'm actually hot. I should be peeling layers right now to tell you the truth," Andre Valenti of Bethlehem said. Many said they have been locked up in the house too long. So they used the day to take pictures or break out into dance as the day gives them a boost and something to look forward to as spring gets closer. "Such a positive feeling being outside and enjoying nature. It's better than being inside. Shake off the winter blues a bit. Get some sunlight, just enjoy," Mike Adames said. The warmer weather is also getting a little credit for keeping some restaurant deals on the menu longer in historic Bethlehem. The sub zero temperatures put Restaurant week in the deep freeze. "With those bad days last week with the cold weather, and snowy weather we decided to extend the historic district restaurant week until Thursday February 7," Downtown Bethlehem Association manager Tim Brooks said. Some people said they will be out again Tuesday and some even said they may eat outside. Just a quick note on restaurant week.
