PPL Corp. plans to beef up its global work force by 3,000 to 5,000 over the next decade, CEO William Spence said today, an increase of about one-fifth over existing employment. The additions will bolster PPL’s generation, distribution and transmission businesses, Spence said in an interview after a luncheon talk to the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce.
