Planners anticipating the Lehigh Valley's future growth will begin hosting a series of public meetings as they plot how to best use the region's resources over the next two decades. Envision Lehigh Valley, a federally funded research program that will study future sustainability in the region, is reaching out to the public as it plans how to shape the region through 2030. The 2010 Census predicted the Lehigh Valley will see its population grow by nearly a third in the next 18 years, and the program is looking at how to best prepare for the extra 188,700 people and their basic needs, according to a news release.
