Public and private grants are helping Catasauqua shed new light on its downtown business district using high-tech LED street lighting — or technically, "pedestrian lighting," according to Borough Manager Gene Goldfeder. The solar-powered ornamental lamps at Front and Pine streets just off the Pine Street bridge could represent the region's first example of energy-efficient LED lights illuminating public space.
