The Bangor Borough Business Revitalization Program, an initiative of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber Foundation, has once again been awarded a $10,000 grant from State Farm Insurance Co. The grant will be used to fund another round of Facade Improvement Grants in the downtown business district, and toward business mentoring of local school students. The check was presented April 17 at Eunikue Fashion, 31 Broadway in Bangor. The grant opportunity was made available through local Bangor State Farm Agent Brian Witmer. Merchants Bank/Bangor is again partnering with the Bangor BBRP to offer a variety of bridge loans to qualified grant recipients. Since its inception, the Bangor Facade Program has awarded 17 properties $59,880 in facade-grant funding; leveraging $136,100 in private dollars invested in these facade improvements.
