Local officials glumly reacted to Bimbo Bakeries USA's announcement it will be shutting the doors to its Northampton Street facility by the end of the year after nearly 130 years of operation in the Easton area. Corporate officials announced the closure to employees Monday morning during a meeting at the Holiday Inn Express in Palmer Township. The bakery, which lies on the border between the township and Wilson Borough, employs about 200 people.
