Snow didn't keep the Lehigh Valley business community away from the Chamber's Economic Outlook 2014 event Tuesday at SteelStacks in Bethlehem. Weather-wise, the Lehigh Valley is in a deep freeze, but on the business front, the climate should heat up this year as the economy continues to shake off the Great Recession. There was plenty of optimism Tuesday at the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce's annual Economic Outlook and Community Development Awards. Wells Fargo economist Jay Bryson laid out an upbeat global forecast, predicting the U.S. gross domestic product would slowly strengthen over the next two years, growing at a rate of about 2.5 percent in 2014, along with stronger consumer spending.
