The Lehigh Valley has a lot to offer prospective employers, but a new economic development blueprint says its efforts to attract and retain businesses could use some more green. One way to do that would be to enact a 1-cent regional sales tax, say consultants from Garner Economics LLC, a consulting and corporate site selection firm brought on board last year by the Lehigh Valley Economic Development Corp. to sharpen the region's job-luring skills. "This single effort would do more to transform the Lehigh Valley economically and help to diversify its economy than any other recommendation noted," the firm wrote in a report that was rolled out Wednesday in Bethlehem.
