Actress Marlo Thomas, the "girl" of the 1960s TV show "That Girl" told a packed audience of women Tuesday at the Lehigh Valley Women's Summit 2014 at Cedar Crest College that the series that appears so mainstream now actually was groundbreaking. Thomas said after she appeared in the pilot of a different show, an ABC executive named Edgar Scherick sent her a bunch of scripts to consider. "I said to him, 'In all the shows you've sent me, the girl is the wife of somebody, or the daughter of somebody or the secretary of somebody.
