Bethlehem officials are working to make parking easier near Moravian Book Shop. Free valet parking is being offered for two months and Mayor Bob Donchez has started a study into whether the back-in parking spots in front of the Main Street store should be reversed. Merchants in that area of Main Street have been requesting more parking since at least 2007. A parking garage was previously planned in the area, but money for the garage has since been transferred to a future South Side garage. Officials from the book shop and the Hotel Bethlehem met with Donchez recently to come up with solutions, out of which the free valet parking came about. The service is being offered from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays through Sept. 13, Bethlehem Parking Authority Executive Director Kevin Livingston said. Click here to read the article.
