About Veteran SMART Roundtable: Hiring veterans is a smart business practice. Employers recognize and value the skillsets veterans bring to the workplace but recruiting and attracting veteran talent can be a challenge.

This roundtable series is intended for HR leadership, recruiters, or any business leader/owner looking to hire veteran talent in their workplace.

Expected attendance: 40-75 HR Professionals, Recruiters, and organizational/business leaders

Presenting Partner: Workforce Board Lehigh Valley & PA CareerLink

This roundtable series intends to:

  • Share hiring resources at the local, state and federal level; including resources and training opportunties provided by Workforce Board Lehigh Valley and PA CareerLink.
  • Discuss ways to attract, train, retain, and recognize veterans in the workplace.
  • Encourage networking and open dialogue amongst Lehigh Valley employers of all sizes and business category who prioritize hiring veterans in the workplace.
  • Communicate the message to all Lehigh Valley employers that veterans make excellent employees due to their leadership attributes and training.
  • Discuss ways that military experience can apply to a civilian workplace and be beneficial to an employer.
