WOMEN’S HEALTH FAIR: COMBATING HEALTH DISPARITIES

The Chamber’s African American Business Leaders Council, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, LGBTQ Business Council and Women’s Business Council presents the Women’s Health Fair on Friday, April 1^st, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. at the Centennial Catering & Conference Center at Homewood Suites by Hilton | Allentown-Bethlehem-Center Valley (Across from the Promenade Shops in Center Valley).

Registration, networking and marketplace from 11:00 a.m. till 12:00 p.m. Program will begin at 12:00 p.m.

This year’s women’s health fair will focus on Health Disparities. Join us in a discussion on inequalities that have disproportionately impacted people of color, individuals in the LGBTQ community, women, and other marginalized groups. Some contributions to this consist of access, gaps in health insurance coverage, etc.

Audience: 70-100 business professionals and members of the community.

To help bring awareness to all the amazing small businesses in the Southern Lehigh community, we are excited to present this new event ALL APRIL LONG!

From April 1st to April 30th, participants will visit participating stores to look for a hidden bunny! Full list of trail stops listed below!

Once found, they will receive a puzzle pieces from the local businesses. Collect all the pieces to form a spring themed picture! Those who finish the full puzzle can submit a photo of it via text to 530-436-6287, and be entered for 3 great prizes: $200 Visa gift card, $100 Visa gift card and a $50 Visa gift card (one entry per completed puzzle).

This event will take place in coordination with the 2022 Southern Lehigh Restaurant Week, April 24th - April 30th! If you visit a restaurant on the Bunny Trail during restaurant week, your completed puzzle will be submitted for an extra entry in the prize drawing! All puzzles must be submitted by May 8th! Drawing will be held on Facebook on May 9th!

This is a great opportunity to get to know all the amazing local businesses right in your backyard! A portion of the proceeds from this event will go directly to the newly formed Southern Lehigh Scholarship Fund.

The Chamber’s Diversity Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Collaborative is proud to present the 2022 Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Summit on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Zoellner Arts Center, Lehigh University 420 E. Packer Ave., Bethlehem, PA 18015 from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. (detailed schedule below)

The purpose of The Chamber’s DEI Summit is to educate, connect and inspire. The day will consist of a general session with a keynote presentation “Driving Innovation Through Diversity,” breakout sessions and networking. This year’s keynote speaker is Yusuf Dahl, Social Entrepreneur, Real Estate Agent & Housing Advocate.

From Poverty to Crime. From Prison to Princeton. From Entrepreneur to Educator.

Through it all, Yusuf Dahl has remained a creator, educator, and activator of ideas, programs, and spaces. With limited capital and experience, he founded Milwaukee Metro Management (MMM), an award-winning affordable housing development and management company, with a vision of creating high-quality affordable housing. Elected as president of the largest apartment owners trade association in the state of Wisconsin, Yusuf worked tirelessly for legislative solutions on some of his industry’s toughest challenges. Yusuf was a graduate fellow at the Center for Information and Technology Policy at Princeton University, where he earned a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree. He has been awarded fellowships from Google and Tata Consultancy Services in Kolkata, India.

Yusuf currently serves as the Executive Director of The Century Promise and is co-founder of the Real Estate Lab in Allentown PA.

Anthony Scholarship Fund, on Thursday, April 28th from 5-7PM at Bru Daddy’s (732 Hamilton Street, Allentown PA 18101). The Linda M. Anthony scholarship recognizes one outstanding high school senior from William Allen, Central Catholic, Dieruff, and Building 21 high schools.
