Event Description: Bethlehem’s Main Street is going to the dogs on Sunday October 21, 2012! The Downtown Bethlehem Association (DBA), a council of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, is proud to present Doggie Day in Bethlehem, for the fourth year! The event will take place from noon to 3 p.m. and will again feature the “Mutt Strutt” Doggie Halloween Parade. The DBA is grateful to the Historic Hotel Bethlehem and Christmas City Veterinarian for their generous support of Doggie Day in 2011. The rain date for Doggie Day is October 27, 2012. An announcement, if necessary, will be made during the evening of October 20th Parade registration begins at 11 a.m. in the Sun Inn Courtyard, behind the Historic Sun Inn. The parade will begin promptly at 12:30pm. There will be five judges to judge the estimated 200 dogs registered for the parade. The suggested registration fee is $10 and proceeds will be shared with Animals in Distress and the Center for Animal Health and Welfare. All registrants will receive a special goodie bag and raffle ticket to win TONS of prizes! The four parade categories are: Spirit of Bethlehem, Scariest costume, Most creative costume, Dog / Owner costume look-alike, and an Open Category Doggie Day will also feature a marketplace of nearly 50 dog-related businesses that will have information, giveaways and more throughout the afternoon! There will be a bar located on Main St featured Mad Dog brews! 2011 brought more than 4000 people to the closed Main St to enter their best friend into the Dog Parade, browse the dog-based vendors and to mingle at a great event! This year the anticipated attendance is 5000 people!
