Event Description: Miller-Keystone Blood Center is proud to sponsor a Shredding Event at our Bethlehem Donor Center located at 1465 Valley Center Parkway, Bethlehem, PA on October 5 from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Shred all your personal documents and enjoy food, drinks and a tour of the blood center. As a community partner MKBC wants to be a good environmental steward by striving to sustain our environment for future generations by promoting recycling and to protect our community members from the staggering surge of identity theft happening in our country.

Shredding sensitive documents is one way to reduce risks of identity theft. An estimated $100 billion a year is lost to information thieves! Identity theft is now the fastest growing crime in the country and most identity theft is done through simple means of collecting papers thrown in the trash. Small and large businesses alike play a large role in protecting and preserving the environment in our communities. As a member of our community, we want to assume a leadership role by becoming more environmentally friendly. The recycling of paper saves trees, as well as reduces energy consumption, reduces landfill waste and reduces water and air pollution. Shredded paper is recycled into secondary paper products such as paper towels and tissue to help protect natural resources. As a community partner MKBC wants to be a good environmental steward by striving to sustain our environment for future generations and to protect our community members from the staggering surge of identity theft happening in our country. Therefore, we will be hosting a shredding event scheduled for October 5, 2013.
