Event Description: Ellen Kaspern is a custom furniture maker and graduate of the North Bennet Street School's Cabinet & Furniture Making program. She owns Ellen Kaspern Design and is a member of the cooperative Fort Point Cabinetmakers in Boston. In addition to designing and building custom furniture, she has been teaching machine woodworking & maintenance at the North Bennet Street School for over a decade. Along with teaching, Ellen demonstrates woodworking techniques throughout New England. Her skills have been presented at Old Sturbridge Village, Peabody Essex Museum, Fuller Craft Museum as well as other institutions in the Boston area. Her work has been featured in shows at the Society of Arts & Crafts in Boston and Gallery 263 in Cambridge. Ellen was born and raised in Bethlehem and now resides in Boston. She holds a BS and MS in Mathematics from Bloomsburg University and Northeastern University. www.ellenkasperndesign.com The Meet the Expert series takes place on the third Saturday of each month. This unique opportunity to hear thematic talks from experts in their respective fields will include a 45-minute lecture and 15-minute Q&A.
