Event Description: Tails of Valor Paws of Honor (TOV) invites you to our Annual Gala and Silent Auction, including a sit-down dinner and musical entertainment. All Gala proceeds will be dedicated to the TOV Canine Connections Training Program which provides social interaction and human/canine bonding resulting in service dogs able to assist with the physical and psychological issues affecting Veterans and their families. --- Every day in the United States, 22 Veterans take their own life. At the same time, every day in the United States, 3,288 dogs are euthanized. The TOV Canine Connections Training Program allows Veterans to work with our trainers to develop/train rescued puppies, all of who are named in honor of a fallen soldier. Our program is designed to attend to the normal behavior and needs of the canine, while addressing the symptoms of PTSD and TBI. At the completion of their 12-16-month training period, these fully-trained ADA/ADI guideline service dogs are given at no cost to a Veteran. TOV’s mission is to provide rehabilitation through non-medicinal therapies with training service canines for Veterans suffering from PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) and Physical Disabilities.
