Jimmy's Barber Shop

I am from London and was in Allentown last week for a family wedding. I popped in on Thursday for a last minute haircut to look good for the weekend. I walked in and was seen to right away which is always good. My hair was cut by a young lady called Amelia ( Hope i got the name right).

She was super friendly and had a smile on her face throughout. We had a good conversation and gave me some recommendations on what to do in the area. She was really nice and super friendly. If i'm ever in the area i will go back to jimmy's again for sure.

Amelia has a bright future ahead and I wish her the best of luck in her career. oh, The hair cut was awesome too.

I took my kid here on Saturday and and specifically asked do you guys take kids they said yes. It's now Monday and he has scabs all over his shape up. I called in today Monday and asked for advice as to what I should do because the cuts are getting progressively worse. The barber told me I'm not a doctor I don't know and the best I can do for you is give you half off because we are not a family friendly barber shop we are a mans barber shop mind you the only reason why I came here is because a friend takes my kid to the other jimmy location. Do not go here the student barber was nice but messed up the cut, and the person who picked up the phone was rude.

The owner called me and apologized for his employee he was super nice and offered a free cut! This is what customer service is all about thank you Jimmy for caring about your customers and your reputation I really appreciate it

Three times I have had butchered haircuts (from three different barbers). Haircuts so bad that I had to seek out a different barber to fix. The first two fixes I went back to Jimmy's to get done and paid full price (shame on me.) And yes, I should have examined the cut closer before I left the shop but schedules can be tight and frankly I shouldn't have to.
Two of my own personal rules I didn't follow and paid for it with three butcher jobs:
1. Never get your hair cut by the owner. Sorry Jimmy. You're a hell of a nice guy but you spent so much time while cutting my hair talking on the phone and interviewing a new employee that you clearly didn't pay attention to the cut.
2. When a barber turns you away from the mirror to cut your hair be wary.
Sorry folks. I really wanted to stick with this shop but I just cannot. Three strikes.

Just stopped in for a quick 'do and was very pleasantly surprised and treated. Mandy knew exactly what I needed and took good care of me. The salon is very nicely set up as well, nice floor and exposed brick wal. It was a good, brief diversion and memory for Allentown.

Tristan cut my son's hair after close to 3 years of growing it out. He was very kind and treated my son with respect, but above all he was very patient with my grandma. He made conversation with my son and treated him like he would any other customer, not like a baby just because he is a little guy. The shop smelled great and the experience was great. We called ahead for an appointment and were seen right away.

We took my nephew there to get a haircut before he was the ringbearer in a wedding. The guys were awesome! They were super friendly and professional, not to mention they gave Bennett an awesome haircut! I would definitely recommend this place!

Heard great things, wish I could say my experience reflected the reviews. I did not have an appointment and expected to wait, but after waiting 40 minutes the owner came in and let me know he'd be with me shortly, 15 minutes later he was still chatting with an employee behind the screen. For $30 bucks a cut I had hoped they cared about my time as much as their own. Walked out without a cut, very disappointed.
