People First Federal Credit Union is a federally chartered and insured credit union that has been serving the Lehigh Valley by offering low cost financial services for over 65 years. As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, it is owned and operated by its members. With over $530 million in assets and over 65,000 members, People First serves more members than any other credit union in the Lehigh Valley. A credit union is a cooperative financial institution owned and controlled by the members who use the services. Credit Unions serve groups that share something in common. Credit unions are not-for-profit, and provide a safe, convenient place for members to save money and to borrow at reasonable rates. If you live, work, worship or attend school in Lehigh or Northampton Counties you can benefit from membership in People First. We offer a wide array of products and services at low or even no cost. Your credit union membership enables you to take advantage of numerous financial products and services. We have 8 strategically located branches and 11 Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) to serve you. If you prefer banking from home we have automated and Internet services available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. As a credit union member, you are the owner! This means that instead of turning its profits over to stockholders, like a commercial bank, credit unions take their profits and turn them over to their members in the form of higher savings rates, lower loan rates, and fewer fees. You'll also find a higher level of personal service and added convenience at your credit union. People First is a federally chartered credit union insured by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF) which is administered by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), an agency of the federal government. Deposits are insured up to at least $250,000. Sit down with a Member Service Representative at any of our eight convenient locations. A five dollar deposit into a Primary Savings Account enrolls you as a member and part owner in People First Federal Credit Union. Our Mission As a member-owned, not-for-profit financial institution, People First Federal Credit Union's mission is to provide the highest quality of financial services in a friendly, convenient, personalized atmosphere. The credit union will operate in a financially sound and competitive manner to ensure long-term financial stability while safeguarding member's assets. These financial services will be provided by the credit union staff under the direction of the volunteer officials.
